Event Recap: How to Market Yourself

Last Wednesday night, McKinley hosted an event in Washington, D.C. to share best practices for job hunting with active and passive job seekers. Much of the presentation focused on how to build a personal brand in order to best represent yourself online and offline.  The interactive presentation was led by Susie Aubuchon, Senior Vice President of Client Services, Marty Hendershot, Director of Client Services, and Deb Abell, Recruiting Manager.

Marty kicked off the presentation speaking about the building blocks of a personal brand and the do’s and don’ts of leveraging your professional and social network. Susie then stepped in to give her expertise on the elements of a resume and how to ace the interview.  Deb wrapped up the presentation with a discussion on the benefits of project work and the particulars of working with a staffing firm. The event proved to be a success as professionals with a variety of experiences gathered to snack, network, and discuss ways to market themselves.
