Manpower Releases Employment Outlook Survey

Manpower has released the results of their Employment Outlook Survey for the third quarter of 2013.  Every quarter Manpower surveys more than 18,000 hiring managers about their hiring plans, and from there they are able to identify the strongest states and industries for hiring and job creation. Highlights from the report:

  • Among the U.S. employers surveyed, 22 percent anticipate an increase in hiring which will reach a four year high.
  • Only 6 percent of employers expect to decrease their workforce, 2 percent of employers are unsure about their hiring plans, and the remaining 70 percent expect no change in their workforce.
  • Employers in the Leisure/Hospitality and Construction industries anticipate a moderate increase in hiring showing notable growth from previous years.
  • Employers in all 50 states report positive hiring plans, with the strongest outlook in North Dakota.
