Success Story

Project Management

During a hiring-freeze, a financial services company found itself understaffed and in dire need of project management expertise extra help to move crucial projects forward.

The client called McKinley Marketing Partners for a marketing consultant who could serve as a project manager until the additional head count could be approved.  They requested a seasoned marketer with project management experience, who could work with internal capital markets and tax groups to aide in the development of a forecasting and trending analysis application.

Solution

The marketing consultant served as the project manager, where she worked with various internal groups, outside vendors and executive level employees to ensure the project was completed under strict deadlines and controls.

With end-to-end development responsibilities, she managed the IT and configuration teams to identify the functional and data requirements as well as drive solutions when obstacles arose.  She oversaw the quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) of the application.

Throughout the length of the project, she maintained a progress dashboard and attended weekly meetings to provide status reports to a steering committee.   She also worked with the risk management department to make sure the application was compliant with financial regulations.

In the end, the consultant successfully delivered a powerful decision-making tool to help guide the company.
